Pavement Light Leaks

Eliminate Water Damage with Expert Pavement Light Resealing

Pavement light leaks can severely damage basements, stock, and budgets. Issues such as failed seals, cracked joints, or weak mortar allow water to flood in. Our emergency resealing service utilizes hot-pour bitumen and advanced waterproofing techniques to effectively stop leaks in hours across London’s 32 boroughs and throughout the UK, ensuring your glass block pavement lights remain intact and functional.

Trusted by renowned establishments like The Hippodrome Casino, Sherlock Holmes Hotel, Selfridges, Levi’s, Stella McCartney (Old Bond Street), Royal Court Theatre, and Piccadilly Theatre, we are one of only five UK specialists with heritage expertise in pavement lighting. As NRSWA-accredited professionals, we secure necessary permits and rigorously stress-test seals to guarantee zero leaks in your pavement light glass blocks.

Heritage Precision: Reseal century-old lights and restore existing pavement lights while offering basement waterproofing solutions.

Rapid Response: We provide a 1-2 hour call-out in London and a 24-hour response UK-wide—call 01525 377513.

Safety First: Our team employs Chapter 8 barriers to secure the worksite and ensure the safety of the public during the project.

Why Pavement Lights Leak

Water ingress destroys pavement lights

Common causes include:

  • Perimeter seal failure from age and weathering.
  • Cross-joint leaks from broken-down bitumen.
  • Water tracking under paving slabs or council paving.
  • Weak mortar or sand beds beneath lights.
  • Missing expansion joints causing movement and cracks.
  • Failed asphalt seals along building lines.

Our Resealing Process: Engineered to Last

We blend traditional and modern methods for watertight pavement lights in hours.

  1. Perimeter Seal Cut-Back: Remove 100mm of failed pavement light seals to expose clean joints.
  2. Infill Removal: Clear the infill to the slab’s bearing for a solid sealing base.
  3. Torch Drying & Priming: Torch-dry to eliminate moisture; apply bitumen primer for adhesion.
  4. Hot-Pour Bitumen Seal: Pour heated bitumen around panels and joints for durable waterproofing.
  5. Alternative Seals: Aquarius painted bitumen, Mastic asphalt  (45° angled seals), or mastic gun for sensitive areas.
  6. Concrete Resurfacing: Resurface with a protective layer of grade C40 concrete for lasting repairs.
  7. Stress Testing: Sandbag tests with water pressure ensure leak-proof seals.
  8. Waterproof Coatings: Optional sealers for budget-friendly protection.
